Today I bothered to click the update button

Today I bothered to click the update button on the only machine which I use that runs Windows(R), windoze XP - all other machines have various Linux distros installed.

In the list there was IE8 and the description read:

Internet Explorer 8 is the latest version of the familiar Web browser that you are most comfortable using. Internet Explorer 8 helps you get everything that you want from the Web faster, easier, and more privately and securely than ever. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

I've been using gecko based web browser since 1996. Netscape and then Firefox. Whenever I tried IE it felt like using a stone-age cartwheel instead of a modern jet. And this feeling was only limited to when IE did not crash!
Now they are telling me that IE is the "familiar Web browser that [I'm] most comfortable using".

Isn't this preposterous? Hilarious?
What would you expect from a company with a record number of micro innovations and soft security?
